What is Apnea?

Apnea is a word meaning a temporary suspension or absence of breathing. When we use apnea in the terms of diving, we are referring to breath-hold diving. There are many underwater activities that utilize breath-hold diving such as underwater hockey, underwater rugby, finswimming, underwater photography, spearfishing, skin diving, and the most common and rapidly growing activity – freediving.
