AIDA Team World Championships 2006 - Hurghada, Egypt
Day 9
Saturday, December 9th: Constant Ballast Day 3
Event difficulties have settle to a minimum. The remainder of Team USA performed today. Everyone was successful, making the performances appear to be easy. The men were clean three by three and the mother daughter pair for Annabel and Jessica were at a solid 61 meters and 59 meters respectively. Deron has broken through to a new competition high with a 70 meter dive that was much easier than he had imagined. Mental gremlins very much far behind. It was a great experience for all. It was all caped off with Team USA's great spirit of teamwork and community helping where everyone could.
Several of our athletes were pulled up on the barge for live television interviews.
Herbert set a new world record of 111 meters. He was a little cold, but made the dive look easy. A very deep dive. Martin made the first dive on live television below 100 meters. Not bad considering he spent a good portion of the dive caughing. His performance has put the Czech Republic Team on top of the standings. Team Russia backed by Natalia's performance of 81 meters today, put the Russian woman on top. USA Men are 11th overall and the Women are a very respectable 8th with only two scoring performances. Look for both teams to move up with tomorrow's static competition.
